Fisher Investments: A Focus on Long-term Performance

At Fisher Investments, our primary focus is helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals. From the beginning, we work with each client to understand their personal situation and investment objectives. From there, we proactively manage the portfolio based on client objectives and our forward-looking market views, with continuous communications along the way. Each client is assigned a dedicated Investment Counselor that provides regular portfolio updates and market insights as well as performance data upon request.

How We Achieve Portfolio Performance

At the core of our investment philosophy, we believe capital markets are effective discounters of publicly available information. Therefore, to add value, we must identify new information, or interpret publicly-known information correctly and differently from the crowd. We conduct independent research and develop capital markets technology in an effort to identify investment opportunities globally and add value to the portfolio. Fisher Investments performance is attained through this approach, seeking to exploit unique investment opportunities while managing risk relative to a global benchmark.

How We Measure Performance

Fisher Investments measures performance relative to an appropriate benchmark, or index. We use a variety of benchmarks—depending on the strategy. For globally-oriented portfolios, we typically use the MSCI World Index. The MSCI World is a free float-adjusted market capitalization weighted index consisting of 23 developed market country indexes designed to measure global developed market equity performance.1
